GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — An armed robbery Thursday evening led to a police chase from west Charlotte into Gaston County, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
Officers responded to an armed robbery call just after 9 p.m. They attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle on Brookshire Boulevard, but the driver refused to stop and fled.
The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into a house in the 100 block of Robin Road in Gaston County, police said.
The fence around the home and the front porch were damaged during the incident.
Channel 9 was told that no one in the home was hurt and the family said the porch saved their lives.
The driver and a passenger were taken into custody.
No names have been released.
