Asheville brewery tapping into South End’s craft-beer scene

CHARLOTTE — Hi-Wire Brewing has plans for a retail location in South End.

Asheville-based Hi-Wire plans to open a brewery and taproom in the market next spring. It has snapped up space at 330 W. Tremont Ave., across the street from Pins Mechanical and near Sycamore Brewing.

“We typically like to look in up-and-coming neighborhoods for our locations, but South End is the exact opposite; it’s already booming,” says Chris Frosaker, co-owner.

He and co-owner Adam Charnack were attracted to the area’s energy when considering locations in the Charlotte market. South End’s proximity to other breweries, restaurants and attractions helped seal the deal.
