DENTON, N.C. — Authorities are estimating that a fire that started on Bald Mountain in Denton on Sunday has now burned around 115 acres.

Tuesday officials said the fire had been contained and is no longer active.

The North Carolina Forest Service said crews are still doing mop-up work.

Officials said firefighters with the Healing Springs Fire Department responded to the blaze that began on Sunday.

Officials said eight to 10 people remained on the scene throughout Monday morning.

No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged.

Officials said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
