LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — There’s a phone scam warning out of South Carolina.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says in this hoax, scammers pose as a representative from a bank, delivery service, or law enforcement agency and tell victims their personal items are at risk.
The scammers then call for cash, jewelry, gold, and other items to be shipped out or even picked up by a fake courier.
Officials say real agencies will never send someone to collect your property.
