CHARLOTTE — A body of a man was found near Independence Boulevard and Wendover Road on Monday morning.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were on the scene after a passerby found the body.
Police said foul play was not suspected, but officials were still out at the scene at 12:30 p.m.
The person was found in an unconscious state suffering from extensive burns to his body, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Officials said they believe the burns were self-inflicted.
Police said there were two accidents nearby caused by people looking at the crime scene as they passed by.
