Brewery to debut as part of $2.5M agritourism project at Catawba Farms

NEWTON, N.C. — Catawba Farms debuts its nanobrewery in Newton this weekend.

Friends and business partners Twyla McDermott, Dennis Baucom and Michael Waltuch have invested roughly $150,000 to bring the brewery to fruition at the historic Catawba Farms property.

Roughly 5,000 square feet of former event space has been transformed into a combined taproom for Catawba Farms Brewery and a tasting room for the Vineyard & Winery at Catawba Farms.
