• Driver leads police on chase that ends in Shelby


    SHELBY, N.C. - Police in Shelby said a driver led them on a high-speed chase for several miles in two states Sunday.

    Investigators tried to pull the driver over in Blacksburg, South Carolina, around 5:30 p.m.

    Police chased the driver more than seven miles to Biggers Road in Shelby.

    People in the area said the driver went over a gas line and hit a ditch.

    Channel 9 plans to ask police for more details Monday, including how the chase started.
