CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were re-routing traffic along a busy Charlotte road early Wednesday morning after a car took out some power lines.
Police had WT Harris Blvd. closed between Idelwild Road and Independence Blvd. after a car crashed into a power pole around 4:30 a.m., draping power lines across the road.
Paramedics took two people in the car to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.
Police told Channel 9 that the road may be closed most of the morning as crews work on repairs.
