CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Man tries to break into Lincoln County ATM

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies are looking for the man who was caught on camera early Friday morning trying to break into an ATM in Lincoln County.

Officials said they were called to the Cash Points ATM machine on North NC 18 Highway around 3:30 a.m. after an alarm came into the Lincoln County Communications Center.

When they got there, deputies said they checked the back of the machine and realized that the door handle was bent and the door had been forced open. The suspect was unable to get to the safe inside the machine though.

Deputies said the man appeared to be white, about 5 feet 2 inches tall with a heavy build and dark hair. He was wearing a headlamp with a light-colored band, a long sleeve shirt and jeans.
