CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Johnny Jennings was not the chief of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department the night officers used a controversial strategy to disperse protesters in uptown Charlotte.
But since taking over the role in July, he’s spent a lot of time explaining what happened and why it won’t ever happen again.
