CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Channel 9 is, once again, teaming up with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library to collect new and gently used books for children and teens as part of the Books for Kids drive.
The goal is to improve literacy across the Carolinas.

“Books in the home are a huge indicator for academic success,” said Jenna Marotta, active reading training coordinator. “It's the single most important indicator for how a child will do in school.”

The library will take all of the donated books and distribute them to children and teens in the community through their library outreach services. You can donate new and gently used children and teens books at any Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, Ashley HomeStore, Showmars and E.R. Plumbing Srevices until April 12.
