CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte-bound flight had to turn around Friday morning because of a mechanical issue.
U.S. Airways flight 43-03 took off from Coastal Carolina Regional in New Bern around 7 a.m.
Not long after takeoff, the captain realized the landing gear had never retracted, forcing him to turn the plane around.
The airport's director said the 50 passengers on board were never in any danger.
Passengers were re-booked on other flights.
