Charlotte Douglas concessionaire, uptown hotel among latest to file layoff notices amid pandemic

CHARLOTTE — The operator of dining establishments at Charlotte Douglas International Airport and an uptown hotel are among the companies with the biggest rounds of layoffs disclosed to state officials amid a flood of job cuts caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the N.C. Department of Commerce’s current report on Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notifications, eight companies have filed letters in the past week detailing plans for temporary layoffs in the greater Charlotte region. Those notices affect more than 1,200 workers combined.
