Charlotte hotel developer opens latest property

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Despite an ongoing pandemic that’s badly battered the hospitality industry, a mixed-use development in Mooresville will see about 250 hotel rooms added in the coming months with the opening of two new properties.

Charlotte-based Maya Hotels opened the first of those two hotels — the 120-room Tru by Hilton — on Wednesday in the LangTree Lake Norman development. Maya Hotels also manages Tru by Hilton. Its adjacent Aloft hotel project will add another 128 rooms in Mooresville and is expected to open in September, Krishna Deva, vice president of Maya Hotels, told the Charlotte Business Journal in an email.

The hotels are located on Alcove Road within the LangTree development off Interstate 77′s Exit 31. The two six-story hotels have a project value of $40 million, with work on both properties starting in the summer of 2018, as CBJ previously reported.
