Charlotte man connected to $75M scheme found guilty

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A federal jury found a Charlotte man guilty for his role in a $75 million mortgage fraud scheme.
 
Steven Jones' guilty verdict is the latest in what officials called Operation Wax House.
 
Officials said it was just one part of an intricate web of crimes that allowed 91 defendants to steal millions of dollars from banks and investors.
