On April 25, CMPD will hold a career expo at Fort Bragg.

Channel 9 has reported on short-handed CMPD, which is struggling to find qualified recruits as the crime rate rises in the Queen City.

CMPD needs to hire 200 more officers, but is losing them faster it is hiring.

The Fraternal Order of Police said the CMPD hired 114 police officers last year, but 120 left.

Starting pay for CMPD officers is around $43,000 a year. Police Department officials said that's competitive with other agencies where they might be recruiting.
