Charlotte mother asks for changes to intersection where son was injured

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte mother and her son who was injured in a car accident asked the City Council for changes at that intersection.

Former Myers Park student Thomas Crain was hit broadside making the left turn from Castleton Road, onto North Sharon Amity.

Crain spent 76 days in the hospital and still deals with the effects of a traumatic brain injury.

Crain's mother talked about the day she got the call about her son, just six months after another person was hurt in the same area, but the Charlotte transportation director said that area only has one or two injury accidents per year, which is not an unusual number.

He said they have added warning signs to the road, and council members discussed adding more.
