Charlotte named among hottest markets

CHARLOTTE — Expectations remain high for Charlotte’s housing market in 2025.

Zillow is out with its annual ranking forecasting the hottest housing markets — or those that should be most competitive among homebuyers — in the year ahead, and Charlotte once again made the top 10. The Charlotte metro ranked at No. 7 — unchanged from last year. In its 2023 outlook, Zillow predicted Charlotte’s housing market would be the nation’s hottest.

Zillow based its analysis on projected appreciation in local home values, the pace in which homes are selling, job growth per new home permitted (a measure of expected demand) and the anticipated uptick in owner-occupied households.
