CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Money.com is out with its latest installment of “The Best Places to Live in America,” and while eight locales across the Carolinas made the list of 100, just one cracked the top 10 — and it’s right here in the Queen City.

The Country Club Heights neighborhood, which lies just east of Plaza Midwood with its streets surrounding Charlotte Country Club, comes in at No. 5.
The ranking takes into account each city’s economic health, cost of living, diversity, public education, income, crime, ease of living and amenities, among other data points, according to a news release yesterday. The analysis included only places with populations of 50,000 or greater, and places with 300,000 or more people were broken down into neighborhoods. Areas with more than double the national crime risk, less than 85% of its state’s median household income or a lack of ethnic diversity were screened out, resulting in 1,796 locales to consider.
Clarksville, Tennessee, located about 50 miles northwest of Nashville, took the No. 1 spot, followed by Round Rock, Texas, and Fisher, Indiana.
