Charlotte ranks among top cities for women entrepreneurs

CHARLOTTE — Despite the hardship for many business sectors brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit are still founding new companies in 2020, according to a recent report from SmartAsset.

But as with most aspects in Corporate America, there remains a gender gap among those starting their own ventures, too — and it’s easier in some places than others for women to break into the ranks of business owners.

Charlotte is among those locales more conducive to their success, the personal finance website determined for its 2020 ranking of the “Best Places for Women Entrepreneurs.”

The Queen City comes in at No. 8.
