CHARLOTTE — A north Charlotte resident celebrated a big milestone over the weekend.
Ruby Pearl Chew turned 105 and celebrated with a party with her family and friends.
Born in 1918, Chew served as a Virginia State police woman during World War II. Chew’s family says she stays healthy and active.
Chew told Channel 9 she thinks God has left on Earth for a purpose and shared plenty of wisdom.
“The older you get, the more you learn, you help others and make the world a better place,” Chew said.
