The Spectrum Cos. confirmed Tuesday morning that LendingTree, an online lending marketplace, has signed a lease to occupy 175,000 square feet of office space in the first building, taking about five-and-a-half floors on the top of the west building, said Steve McClure, chief operating officer at The Spectrum Cos.

The developer will break ground on the building in June, with an expected delivery in late 2020.

“It was our employees who helped us make this decision,” said Doug Lebda, CEO of LendingTree. “We took an approach very similar to the way we build software and companies, and we looked everywhere.”

LendingTree currently keeps its headquarters in Ballantyne, employing about 500 there.
