New weekly concert series kicks off soon in SouthPark

CHARLOTTE — The Queen City has spring fever, and its events are following suit.

SouthPark After Five, a new weekly happy hour, will kick off a six-week concert series at Symphony Park beginning on April 20.

Adam Rhew, president and executive director of SouthPark Community Partners, says events like these help the city use public spaces to bring people together.

“We’ve heard a clear demand for more programming that brings the community together in SouthPark and are thrilled to launch this event series in Symphony Park,” said Rhew. “SouthPark After Five is part of a broader strategy to activate our public spaces and create memorable experiences that contribute to SouthPark’s sense of place.”

SouthPark After Five will feature live music, vendors, interactive art, and craft drinks.

The May 4 event will also have a tie to the PGA Wells Fargo Championship, an event that brings thousands of people to the area.

The six-week lineup includes:

  • April 20: 20Ride (Zac Brown tribute band)
  • April 27: Breakfast Club (’80s music)
  • May 4: YachtRock Revue
  • May 25: On the Boarder (Eagles tribute band)

The events run from 5-9 p.m. Admission is free except for the show on May 4. Click here for more information.
