Chef-driven restaurant Stoke reopens after extended shutdown

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Stoke has reopened its doors — and hopes to play a key role in revitalizing uptown’s dining scene.

That chef-driven restaurant welcomed its first guests on Thursday, after being closed for 10 months. It held off on reopening after the COVID-19 pandemic shuttered dining rooms across the state in mid-March and uptown traffic remained slow.

Stoke is located at 100 W. Trade St., within Charlotte Marriott City Center.

“It is very slow right now. But we think it’s the right time,” says Scott Siebert, general manager of the hotel. “We want to be part of the revitalization.”
