Channel 9's Briana Harper spoke to residents who said their homes along Riverside Drive have turned into disaster zones.
Mecklenburg County Code Enforecement inspected more than a hundred homes in the area. The estimated cost of damage is more than $3 million.
Nearly a third of the homes were so badly destroyed from this weekend's storms, they're no longer livable.
Although the high waters have since passed, neighbors said the cleanup is just beginning.
Watch the video above as Harper talks to residents who said they are left with two options -- find a new place to live or prepare for an extended rebuilding process.
