Cleveland County continues vaccination push as COVID-19 hospitalizations decrease

CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — Cleveland County is offering incentives to boost COVID-19 vaccination. The situation was dire two weeks ago, but the area is seeing a big shift.

“We were averaging 50-plus Cleveland County patients being hospitalized each day,” said Dr. DeShay Oliver, director for the county health department. “Whereas now, our numbers are in the 30s.”
