CMPD animal control promotes fostering over holiday weekend

CHARLOTTE — Are you looking for a new addition to your family?

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Animal Care and Control Adoption Center (ACC) is asking for help fostering dogs this holiday weekend.

Almost all the ACC kennels are full and adoptions are expected to slow down over Memorial Day weekend. Because of that, the animal shelter is encouraging people to foster or have a staycation with the dogs.

ACC says that dogs are available for staycation pickups from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and there will be no adoption fees in favor of donations to the adoption center.

All dogs from the center come with one free week of training from Good Pup, and dogs who are fostered for longer or have a longer staycation come with a $50 coupon toward supplies and services at Stand For Animals.
