• CMPD to begin patrols at airport

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte Mecklenburg Police will patrol the airport starting Saturday.

The change was announced in early November and will take effect on Saturday.

At least 18 more officers will be added to the force at the airport, at a total cost of $1.6 million.

The city council approved the money last year.
