• CMPD detectives searching for breaking-and-entering suspect


    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's University City Division are asking for the public's help to find Jimmy Christopher Brookins, 24, in connection with a breaking-and-entering of a motor vehicle case.

    University City Division patrol officers responded to a larceny from motor vehicle call around 12:20 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Sports Fitness University at 8404 N. Tryon St.

    The victim said the suspect smashed the car window and took his wallet.

    Based on information and evidence that was gathered during the investigation, University City Division detectives were able to identify Brookins as a suspect in this case. Brookins has three outstanding warrants for his arrest.
