CMPD discusses response, enforcement during COVID-19 crisis

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police is giving us a better look at the crimes they have been responding to during the coronavirus crisis.

It has on one hand been business as usual for police, but on the other, policing in a whole new world with a new set rules and things they are charged with enforcing.

First, they released the crime numbers for the first quarter of the year, meaning January to March 2020.

Then, officers discussed the department’s COVID-19 response and how they are handling any police absences.
