CMPD: Gang member held on $2 million bond for drug charges

CHARLOTTE — Early Sunday morning, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers responded to 6135 Country Walk Drive in reference to a disturbance. When they arrived they observed about 40 individuals about to engage in a fight.

A CMPD officer told Channel 9 while police were clearing the area getting people to leave, an unknown subject shot off a round at the back of the house.

Officers searched the inside and outside of the house, finding a revolver and 9mm pistol. Both firearms were loaded. The firearms will be analyzed further to see if they are stolen.

Inside of the house, officers found another 9mm pistol, which they said was stolen.

Police arrested Cesar Jonathan Nande, who they said rents a house at 6135 Country Walk Drive. Nande, 22, was arrested for trafficking cocaine, PWISD marijuana, maintain dwelling and possession of a stolen firearm. Officers seized $3,346 and said Nande is a known gang member.

He is in custody being held on $2 million bail.
