• Police: Man charged with arson after Wednesday morning fire

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said a man was arrested Wednesday and accused of arson.

    Thomas Knight, 58, was arrested after a fire at 7:20 a.m. at 1906 East Blvd. No injuries were reported at the fire and firefighters were able to get it under control in 15 minutes.

    Capt. Mark Basnight said the fire was contained to a single room.
