• CMPD identify west Charlotte homicide victim


    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte Mecklenburg police are looking for answers Monday morning after a homicide in a west Charlotte.

    An officer on patrol on Old Dowd Road found Brian Dale Jones, 41, lying down in the street around 10 p.m. Sunday.

    Police said he had some injuries, but didn't describe them.

    He died a short time later.

    Police said they believe Jones was murdered at another location and dropped off on Old Dowd Road.

    Jones was last seen driving a green, 1998 Mazda 626 with NC tag AMK-4692.    

    Detectives are asking anyone who may have seen Jones on Sunday, to call 704-432-TIPS.
