CMPD: Saturday night shooting was an accident

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said a south Charlotte shooting on Saturday was an accident.

The shooting happened in the 2800 block of South Tryon Street on Saturday night.

After the shooting happened, police told Channel 9 they had taken one person in for questioning.

Police said the shooting was accidental and they are not filing charges.

The victim was shot in the face, but is expected to be OK.
