CMPD search for 2 suspects accused of assaulting an officer

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are searching for two suspects accused of assault CMPD officer.

Police say an officer spotted two men early Saturday appearing to break into a car on Piney Grove Road in southeast Charlotte.

They say one of the men charged the officer and tried to take his gun.

The officer suffered minor injuries and is expected to be okay.
