CMPD: Security guard carjacked, shot twice in west Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police conducted a massive manhunt early Friday morning after officers said a security guard was shot and carjacked in west Charlotte.

Emergency crews were called to Roslyn Avenue, near Rozzelles Ferry Road, around 3 a.m. and found a man who had been shot twice.

Police said the victim was a security guard and that the gunman flagged him down. Thinking the suspect needed help, the guard stopped and that’s when police said he was shot, once in the arm and once in the leg.

The gunman then stole his car.

Officers said the victim was shot somewhere on Rozzelles Ferry and emergency crews found him on Roslyn after he knocked on some doors looking for help.

No suspect description has been released and officers said they were searching for a silver Toyota Corolla.
