CMPD sending more than 100 officers to assist with Inauguration Day

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has announced it will be sending more than 100 officers to assist with security on Inauguration Day.

The department said they will be deploying their mobile force units and public order bikes.

CMPD will also be assisting with crowd control and perimeter security.

The inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump is set to take place on Monday.
