CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials will examine how new suspension guidelines are working during a meeting Tuesday night.
Under the latest guidelines, the school superintendent must sign off on suspensions for students ages 4 to 8 years old.
The most recent suspension report shows that suspensions were down for students in kindergarten through second grade, but there was a significant racial disparity.
African-American boys represented the majority of students being suspended at 55 percent.
