CMS prepares for return of K-5 students

MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Elementary Schools have been busy preparing for students to return on Monday.

Channel 9 got a peak inside Elizabeth Lane Elementary School in Matthews on Friday. Classroom desks are distanced and each student will have their own supplies.

Even outdoor space has been taped off into zones to keep everyone socially distanced.

“I want our families to know that they can trust that we’re taking the precautions that we told them that we are. We know that it’s just gonna be hard because parents can’t walk into the school, It’s a huge responsibility, but were ready,” said principal Crystal Lail.
