Schools will have a diploma “drive-through” ceremony followed by a virtual graduation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

During the drive-through ceremony, students will be greeted by staff on the drive onto campus.

The district said seniors will be able to have their photo taken outside of their cars.

Students and families will also be able to watch the virtual graduation which will include speeches by students, principals and distinguished guests. Every graduate’s name will also be called during the virtual ceremony.

“While the COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we celebrate graduations for the Class of 2020, it has not diminished our pride in our students’ achievements," Superintendent Earnest Winston said. "We are proud of our graduates, schools and staff for coming together to celebrate.”
