• CMUD: 15 fish killed after wastewater spill


    MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. - A wastewater spill was reported Friday at 3247 Seven Eagles, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility Department officials.

    A blockage of kitchen grease and debris caused wastewater to spill. CMUD officials said about 1,270 gallons reached McMullen Creek.

    Officials said a crew got to the spill within 26 minutes and took steps to remove the blockage and clean the area.

    They said 15 fish were found dead associated with the spill.
