Lockdown at community college lifted

CONCORD, N.C. — Rowan-Cabarrus Community College South Campus was on lockdown for reports of a person seen carrying a gun, according to an email from the college.

Campus officials said 10:30 a.m. Friday that the person was found but they were still searching for the weapon.

The lockdown was lifted around 10:40 a.m.

Officials were asking people at South Campus to seek shelter in their space and wait for more information.

Officials also asked for others not to come to South Campus. Channel 9 is working to gather more information. Check back for updates to this story.
