Police arrest two suspects, search for third after drive-by shooting in Cornelius

CORNELIUS, N.C. — Cornelius Police said they have arrested two people after one person was injured in a drive-by shooting Friday night.

Police charged Brendan McGlynn and Randy Banks with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and felony conspiracy.

Officials said they have issued arrest warrants for a third suspect, Jacobi McMillan. McMillan is wanted on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and felony conspiracy.

The shooting happened just after 6:30 p.m. on Psalms Street.

Police said one person was shot in the neck and transported to Carolinas Medical Center - Main by MEDIC.

MEDIC said the victim has life-threatening injuries.

Police said during the investigation, detectives learned the shooting was not random and the victim and suspects knew each other.

"He was just out there and somebody pulled up and we've been told two shots were fired. No innocent homes, people, property, or bystanders were injured," Jennifer Thompson from the Cornelius Police Department said.
