Court records reveal information in Salisbury arrest involving alleged police brutality

SALISBURY, N.C. — There is new information on a police officer accused of crushing a man's windpipe.

Salisbury police say they're investigating whether Graham Hosch was hurt in a bar fight before his run-in with police.

Police said Monday they tried to stop him multiple times on South Lee Street in Salisbury.

Officers said Hosch didn't listen and one of the officers put his hand on Hosch's shirt to stop him, according to the police report.

Hosch was charged with resisting a public officer and disorderly conduct.

On the report, it also says no medical treatment was needed.

But Thursday night, Channel 9 saw Hosch with a bandage covering his neck.

The NAACP said a Salisbury officer choked him, crushing his windpipe.

The civil rights group has made several claims of police brutality and racial profiling in Salisbury dating back to 2009.
The city of Salisbury is investigating the police department.
