ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — Investigators have not said if they are any closer to finding a missing Rowan County teenager.
Nobody has seen or heard from 15-year-old Erica Parsons in almost two years.
Investigators announced Parsons' disappearance Monday.
Channel 9 reporter Kathryn Burcham found that several disturbance calls were made from the family's home.
Through records requests, Channel 9 learned that in the past two years, Rowan County sheriff's deputies have been called to the home seven different times, sometimes for 911 calls about violent incidents in the home.
Officials at the Rowan County Emergency Communications Center told Channel 9 that in August 2011, deputies were called to the home for a domestic violence incident while a 3-year-old child was inside the house.
That call was just a few months before authorities say Parsons disappeared.
Her parents told investigators she was going to Asheville to visit her biological grandmother, but now authorities say they were lying.
In 2012, authorities said someone at the home filed a missing-persons report not for Erica, but for her adopted sister, Brooke.
Authorities said the teen's mother Casey Parsons was concerned because Brooke hadn't been seen since the night before and she wanted officers to search for her.
According to records, the teen returned home while deputies were at the scene.
And twice this year, deputies said they went to the home for more domestic violence calls.
Channel 9 learned through court records that some of those calls for service were tied to Parsons' adoptive brother, the person who first reported her missing last week.
Parsons would be 15 years old now and is described as about 4 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 85 to 90 pounds.
She has brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Rowan County Sheriff's Office at 704-216-8687.
Channel 9 also obtained new information on James Parsons, who first reported Erica missing.
Court records show James Parsons has been arrested twice for assault charges.
In February 2010, when James Parsons was 16 years old, court records say he was arrested for biting his younger brother's arm.
According to court officials, Parsons pleaded guilty in a prayer for judgment.
Over a year later, in August 2011, deputies were called to the Parsons home again when they said James Parsons attacked his mother and his sister and threatened his younger brother.
This time, court officials said the charges were dismissed because Casey Parsons never showed up to court.
Just a few months later, investigators said Erica Parsons disappeared.
