COVID-19 spread at food processing plants continue to worry workers

CHARLOTTE — Employees who work at food processing plants have said they need better protection from the virus or else the price you pay at the store could increase.

According to the CDC, 16,000 employees at meat and poultry processing plants have tested positive through the end of May. That's nearly 9% percent of all plant workers.

The CDC said the facilities are at an increased risk because employees spend hours working in close quarters.
