• Crews work to fix sinkhole in Statesville


    STATESVILLE, N.C - Crews are working to fix a sinkhole that opened up in Statesville nearly a month and a half ago.

    The sinkhole opened up on North Center Street and before it's fixed, North Carolina Department of Transportation officials say they must find out what caused it.

    The sinkhole is 15 feet across and up to 10 feet deep.

    Work should be completed in four weeks.
