David Tepper wants indoor practice bubble for the Panthers; Here's the estimated tab

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — When it rains in Charlotte or freezing weather makes conditions treacherous, the Carolina Panthers often turn to a convention center ballroom in uptown as their practice home. Players walk through formations, but are unable to go full speed.

This is unusual by NFL standards — and Panthers owner David Tepper made it clear this week he wants to avoid another season without a viable indoor practice center.

His solution: Putting up an inflatable dome to cover an existing artificial turf field at the team’s 7-acre practice center uptown. There are two natural grass fields next to the artificial turf field. Inflatable domes require artificial turf fields.
