MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — Dental equipment maker Dentsply Sirona has picked Mecklenburg County over its Pennsylvania headquarters for a North American commercial operations center.
The center will be located in Mecklenburg County and would consolidate functions spread across several regions, according to the N.C. Department of Commerce. And it could be expanded to include the company’s growing e-commerce vertical, officials said Tuesday.
The project, dubbed Project Hydra by Commerce, will create 320 jobs over eight years. The firm will also be required to retain 145 positions currently existing in the state. Average salaries are projected to be nearly $72,000, with investments at about $3 million.
In return, the state has worked out a package worth nearly $4 million to the company via a Job Development Investment Grant.
