• Deputies: 4 arrested in string of Union Co. break-ins


    UNION COUNTY, N.C. - Union County deputies said they have arrested four people in connection with a series of burglaries.

    Investigators told Channel 9 they arrested Dene McDonald, Dustin Medlin, Anthony Smith and Kyle Sramek Dec. 6.

    Police said the suspects are responsible for seven break-ins that began in September and went through last week.

    Investigators said they found stolen items in the home of one of the suspects, as well as hydrocodone pills and drug paraphernalia.

    Lancaster County deputies are also involved in the case and they said more arrests are expected this week.
